The Lindsay Record - 33 1/3 rpm (not an LP). A Columbia Records Special Project.It contains speeches and songs in support of his first run for mayor in 1965. He took office in 1966. He was previously a four time Congress person.
Side one: "Everything's coming up Roses, Why should it be" and "What can I do for New York, The small business people.
With special lyrics for Everything's Coming Up Roses, sung by Ethel Merman.
Side two: "Why I want to be mayor" and "What are we going to do for the City of New York"
From his obituary: John Vliet Lindsay, 79, the charismatic and well-heeled mayor of New York City from the mid-1960s to early 1970s who championed better race relations, had a dynamic impact on the depressed city and was known for his later switch from the Republican to the Democratic Party, died December 19, 2000 at Hilton Head Medical Center on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
