    Description

    We are offering three 1880's Political Broadsides/Flyers:
    1.)
    Prohibition Party Ticket, Salem, MA - Wards 3, 4, & 6.  Circa 1880's.  4 3/4" x 11".
    Thomas J. Lothrop for Governor, Charles B. Knight for Lieutenant Governor, and names of candidates for other offices.
    CONDITION: Very Good; has a tear in upper left corner that has been repaired with archival acid-free tape; some edge-chipping, and a little bit of paper missing from the bottom edge.
    2.)
    Republican Voters (of Salem, MA) - Wards 1, 2, and 5.  Circa 1880's.  4 3/8" x 8".  Regarding Zina Goodell, Candidate for Representative.
    (Goodell was born in Ipswich, MA in 1834 and died in Salem, MA in 1920).  This flyer states that the claim that Goodell had withdrawn his name as candidate was false.  Then says, "Committee to sort and count ballots, have admitted that they made a miscount of votes......."
    At the end it says, "Friends of fair play and opposers of political rings be on hand this evening at 7:30 o'clock".  CONDITION: Excellent; small edge tears that have been repaired with archival acid-free tape.
    3.)
    "Shall License be granted for Sale of Intoxicating Liquors in this City?  NO."  -
    on 4" x 5" paper.
