Description
A timeless classic, natural grooved shingles are excellent as a premier sidewall shingle, to show off the colors of natural Western Red Cedar over time. These shingles are kiln-dried to get a consistent quality, and are certified grade #1 by the CSSB. If you want the classic mid-century modern or high-end shingled look for your home or project, look no further.
These are made from the finest green shingle makers in British Columbia, with extremely tight, vertical grains.
They are Kiln Dried (KD), and undergo Re-butting (the bottom of the shingle is sanded off), and re-squaring (the sides are made smooth). That's why they are known as a KD R&R Shingle.
If you are looking to paint these shingles, we recommend using the primed option to help your paint adhere to the shingles. If you wish to maintain the natural red color, we recommend either a Brazilian Rosewood oil or another transparent stain with UV protection.

A few technical details:
These boxes are 20" long x 9" wide x 18" high.
These are sold to cover 50 square feet when installed at a 14" exposure - OR - 500 lineal inches per box.
If you wish to install at a smaller exposure you will need more material, (e.g. 7" exposure will need twice the material)
The shingles are variable widths, and although they are sold at an 18" in length, they are only 17" long as is the industry standard.
Note: we take special care to properly wrap, band and ship our shingles. Since we cannot guarantee the same level of care on the return, we do not currently accept returns unless you are shipped the wrong product. Thank you for your understanding!
If you have any other questions please feel free to send us a message and we are happy to help.
